February in Gay Santa Fe! - Santa Fe Gay Realtor
The snowstorms have returned as the month kicked off. A welcome sight for those of us that liked to hit the slopes. After a couple of days enjoying the new powder we took a break and headed to friends house to watch the Super Bowl.
They put on quite a spread containing many of the traditional super bowl foods that we have al come to love and a few selections outside the box. And of course, we finished the game eating different scrumptious cakes made fresh by The Chocolate Maven.
The following morning we enjoyed breakfast with friends visiting from Chicago at the Famous Plaza Café. Santa Fe’s oldest restaurant boasts a wide range of food in abundant portions that can’t be beat. A must for visitors, locals and movie stars alike.
We took a break for the social scene as the Olympics began. Most of our free time was spent rooting our favorites to Gold. However we did step out for a valentine’s dinner at the Museum Hill Café. They hosted a 4-course meal and a show staring none other than Santa Fe’s Bella Gigante! It was a sell out crowd and we wall ate, drank and was entertained in style.
Later in the month we were guest at a dinner party at dear friends who live in the lovely neighborhood of Rancho Viejo south of town. This lovely neighborhood is surrounded by a plethora of open space, hiking and walking trails and yet is only 20 minutes to the Santa Fe Plaza.
We ended the month with a long weekend getaway to Dallas. It is quite convenient and easy to get there now that American Eagle services the route daily. One feels almost like a celebrity when flying in and out of Santa Fe. When we returned to Santa Fe, the wheels touched down at 1:55pm. At 2:04pm (a short 9 minutes later) we had collected our luggage and were in the car!
